Special Assembly (Grade I & II)

"Good Over Evil" Dussehra, also called Vijayadashmi (or Bijoya in Bengal), is the culmination of the nine-day Navaratri celebrations. It is a festival that marks the killing of Ravana, his son Meghanath and brother Kumbhakarn, by Lord Ram. Dussehra celebrates Ram’s victory over Ravan in a festival spread out over ten days. The story of Ram’s life is enacted in a folk art form called Ramlila. A special assembly was conducted by students of GRADE 1&2 on the occasion of Dussehra celebration. The students presented a short enactment and poem of the story of Ramayan. Dussehra symbolizes the conquest of good over evil. It is thus considered as an auspicious day. It reminds people of the fact that truth always wins and motivates them to follow the path of dharma. Even today after burning the effigy of Ravana along with his subordinates Meghanad and Kumbhkarana, we simply symbolize the power of good and humanity above all kind of powers. This day is considered not only the victory of Ram but also the victory of mankind. The assembly made aware about our rich Indian culture and values.
