Janmashtami at RPS89

RPS89 celebrated Janamashtami on 10 and 11 August, 2020, to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. The ongoing pandemic notwithstanding, the RPSians joyfully participated in numerous online activities to mark the special occasion in its traditional hues and characteristic style.Teachers introduced the young students to Lord Krishna by narrating the story of his birth and childhood. Listening to Bal Gopal’s childhood adventures brought smiles to the faces of the little ones.
Since Matki and Flute were inseparable parts of the young Kanha’s personality, an exciting decoration activity was organized by all the classes, online. The artistic Buds were encouraged to embellish Lord Krishna’s flutes with vibrant colours. This was followed by a Matki-making activity using cut-outs of chart paper and cotton. The young artists were enthralled by these creative activities and enjoyed adorning these with fabulous sequins, bindis and other craft material. The festivities concluded with the little buds proudly displaying their work of art, now truly their prized possessions!
