Garba activity (GRADE I&II)

“Garba is to express….not to impress.”

Garba is a Gujarati folk dance celebrated in Navratri, a celebration lasting nine nights. It is a dance that honours, worships and celebrates the feminine form of divinity. The word “garba” comes from the Sanskrit word garbha, meaning “womb”. It is performed to honour the Hindu Deity of Divinity, Goddess Durga.

A “Garba activity” was organised for the students of GRADE I&II, in which they all came delightfully dressed up. Girls looked beautiful in the sparkling lehengas and boys dashing in the kurta pajamas. Students danced on the tunes of garba songs, they were unstoppable. A fun photo session was also been held, where the students got their photos clicked in different poses. They all enjoyed the garba dance. It was mesmerising to see the happy faces of the students.
