Garba activity (GRADE I&II)

  “Garba is to express….not to impress.” Garba is a Gujarati folk dance celebrated in Navratri, a celebration lasting nine nights. It is a dance that honours, worships and celebrates the feminine form of divinity. The word “garba” comes from the Sanskrit word garbha, meaning “womb”. It is performed to honour the Hindu Deity of Divinity, Goddess Durga.  A “Garba activity” was organised for the students of GRADE I&II, in which they all came delightfully dressed up. Girls looked beautiful in the sparkling lehengas and boys dashing in the kurta pajamas. Students danced on the tunes of garba songs, they were unstoppable. A fun photo session was also been held, where the students got their photos clicked in different poses. They all enjoyed the garba dance. It was mesmerising to see the happy faces of the students.

Garba Celebration (Kindergarten Wing)

  "A colourful Garba and Dandiya Rass rejuvenated the vibrancy of the Navratri!" Navratri is one of the major and important nine day festival celebrated to worship the Goddess Durga.It is celebrated in many ways in India and in various regions. For many people it is a time of religious reflection wherein people are seen fasting, for others it is a time for dancing and feasting. With the aim to spread joy and happiness and celebrate the occasion of Navratri, RPS International School Sec-89 organized Garba Celebration for our tiny tots. The girls came dressed in colourful ghagra cholis and boys dressed up in their beautiful kurta pyjamas which was the theme of the event. The students along with their teachers enjoyed every moment by performing dance in garba style. The essence of the festivity was truly felt and celebrated by all in the true spirit of oneness.

  Nothing can replace the peace and happiness that Maa Durga brings to our homes every year. Here's celebrating the victory of Maa Durga and celebrating the triumph of Good over the Evil. Garba is a form of dance which originates from the state of Gujarat in India. The name is derived from the Sanskrit term Garbha .Many traditional garbas are performed around a centrally lit lamp or a picture or statue of the Goddess Shakti. Traditionally, it is performed during the nine-day Hindu festival Navaratri.   To celebrate Navratri, 'Garba Activity' was planned for the students of Class III -IV . All students were dressed in the traditional attire and enjoyed to the fullest . The event was super fantastic . All students along with teachers celebrated with great enthusiasm.

Special Assembly (Theme: Dussehra) Kindergarten Wing

  “It’s not enough to vanquish the darkness; true victory lies in spreading the light.” India is known as the land of festivals and celebration. ‘Dussehra’ is one such festival which is unique in its perception and significance. Students were adorned in attractive outfits of Lord Rama, Lakshman, Sita, Ravana etc. and performed the great epic, Ramayana.The celebration was to mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil. The presentation also helped to inculcate important values of life in our students. The students of Class LKG Easterlily presented a special assembly on the topic ‘Dussehra’ with great fervour and devotion. The assembly commenced with the Gayatri Mantra and the Prayer followed by the Thought of the Day.The assembly left everyone present in a state of absolute bliss.
